Research Interests:

The Ulinski laboratory is interested in the mechanisms by which the visual cortex processes information. We use an in vitro preparation of the eyes and brain of freshwater turtles to study the anatomy and physiology of microcircuits in the visual cortex. We are also developing biologically realistic models of the retina, lateral geniculate nucleus and visual cortex to help understand the cellular mechanisms that underlie visual information processing.
