Research
Interests:
My lab is interested in cellular and molecular biology
of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and the biology of neuronal
stress response. Our research on AD focuses on the functional
characterization of genes that are mutated in familial early-onset
AD (FAD) to understand their role in synaptic transmission,
and elucidate the mechanisms involved the production of pathogenic
b -amyloid peptides. We are also investigating the endoplasmic
reticulum stress-related gene expression with the aim of
identifying common features involved in hypoxic and ischemic
neuronal damage, aging, and neurodegeneration.
